WebJun 4, 2009 · There's lots of info on the web about porting these heads, basically you want to remove the valve and grind the thermactor hump completely flush with the roof, blend the pocket area behind the valve into the port walls and roof, and upen up the port smoothly to the gasket. You can also contour the valve guide to make it more aerodynamic. WebMay 2, 2011 · So, the only way to pick up the power in the factory heads was to port them. The most exotic swap was the Cleveland 2bbl head swap, which was made possible by a special intake made by B&A Performance. I did this swap, but ended up selling the whole engine when a Boss 302 came available. I worked my *** off on those heads.
